Broadridge Financial Solutions (NYSE: BR) has a report out for investors who like to invest internationally and in emerging markets. It highlights just how difficult it can be for the investors inside the United States to get a true international footprint for their investment portfolio in many case.  The claim is that U.S. investors only have access to about 10% of all stocks that are traded in the global equity exchanges.

The company’s latest report is called “Global Investing: Considerations for Building an End-to-End Solution.”  This cites that 90 percent of U.S. investable assets “are not invested in international markets where growth over the past 10 years has been the strongest.”

The quote that is the takeaway: “With emerging markets anticipated to grow faster than developed economies over the next five years, financial institutions from brokerage firms to wealth management funds have a time-sensitive window of opportunity to enhance their technology and operations to create global investing platforms.”

This goes on to list that there are about 50,000 stocks traded in all public markets around the world.

The full report is here for ADR and international securities investors.
